Important Reminders: 1. Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year. 2. October 1st is when the FAFSA application process begins, apply at: studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. 3. BEWARE of SCAMS!!! If you have to pay a fee to get money or apply for a scholarship. it's probably a scam. 4. Research the scholarship you are applying for, if it sounds to good to be true, then it is a scam.
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) have partnered to offer two free Introduction to Financial Aid Webinars for students and families.
These sessions will cover:
- Federal financial aid and the FAFSA process
- State financial aid programs, including the VASA application
- Application tips to maximize aid opportunities
- Live Q&A with financial aid professionals
